Overnight, Luftwaffe aircraft drop 106 high explosive bombs on Plymouth damaging Sherwell Congregational Church in Tavistock Road, City Hospital at Freedom Fields, gas works at Coxside and Corporation electricity works at Prince Rock (26 civilians killed, 117 wounded). Electricity will be restored next day but Plymouth is without gas for 3 weeks.
